Ratholer - A player who removes chips from the table, usually to avoid having to go all-in more than they intend to. Ratholing is typically performed by shortstackers who play really tight, double up, then move to another table.

High Roller - A player who usually plays in high stakes poker games that require betting large amounts of money. As a result large amounts of money can be won and lost within minutes.

Poker Terms

20NL - No Limit Hold Em with blinds of $0.10/$0.20 and a $20 maximum buy-in. The 20 can be "x" where "x" = 100 big blinds, the standard maxmimum buy-in.

C-bet - Short for continuation bet. The aggressor on the previous street bets regardless of whether that street hit or not.

Cutoff - The seat in front of the button, i.e., the last player to act before the button does.

EV - Expected Value: Expected Value is how much you expect to win on a hand in the long run.

Folding Equity - The value that comes from the possibility that other players will fold when you make a bet.

Implied Odds - The same as pot odds except it takes into account making bets in the future.

Pot Equity - Pot equity is your expected value from the pot.

Pot Odds - The odds you are getting when you are drawing, without considering future bets.

Rounder / Grinder - Players who make their living or a significant amount of their income from playing poker.

TPTK - Short for top pair top kicker.

UTG - Under the Gun. The position to the left of the big blind which acts first before board cards are dealt.
